Personal Background

Gregory is a community synergist with a passion for bringing people together. Over the past 25 years, Gregory has enjoyed a diverse career blending business and university teaching, academic writing, marketing communications, and real estate sales and investment.

Raised in New York City (Howard Beach), his education took him to Europe, where he spent most of the 1990s. Today, he calls Grand Rapids, Michigan, home.

He remains engaged in scholarly projects, writing and discussing philosophical and theological issues. 

Beyond his professional pursuits, Gregory is invested in building a more just and compassionate society. He actively participates in community projects promoting fair housing, cultural inclusivity, and championing animal welfare.

He values hospitality and enjoys frequent gatherings with friends for food, wine, and discussions lasting into the night.

As a dedicated minimalist, Gregory appreciates the beauty of simplicity. He also cherishes his Irish and English heritage, finding joy in exploring their rich traditions and history.

Ph.D. in Philosophy

The degree was awarded through the Loyola Institute, a Jesuit academic institute affiliated with Trinity College. Doctoral research focused on social philosophy and political economy. Other areas of concentration included social ethics, Christian social thought, and cultural analysis.

Franciscan is a vibrant Catholic liberal arts university in Eastern Ohio. The political science program strongly emphasizes political philosophy, the history of political thought, and analysis of liberalism and is highly influenced by the Catholic Social Thought tradition. The philosophy and theology programs maintain a strong focus on phenomenological realism, personalism, and the work of John Paul II.

International Academy of Philosophy

The Academy was an academic center focused on contemporary continental philosophy, including personalism and phenomenology. Much of the coursework at the Academy integrated theological scholarship, particularly from the perspectives of John Paul II, Henri de Lubac, and Hans Urs von Balthasar.

Irish & British Culture

He was deeply influenced by his Irish and English ancestry and his years living in Dublin, Ireland.

Gregory continually learns about Irish and British culture and history. He takes occasional courses with the University of Galway’s Irish Studies program.

He's a member of the American Irish Historical Society, the Irish American Cultural Institute, The Celtic League, and the Cornwall Cultural Association

Animal Welfare

Gregory supports Mercy for Animals, an organization dedicated to improving the conditions of factory-farmed animals. He also supports Hearts of Hope Animal Rescue and the Humane Society of West Michigan.
