• Organic Christian Community

Nourish is an experiment in Christian community in the Grand Rapids area.

    Our Vision:

Organic - informal, loosely structured, and authentic

Christian - following Jesus without the baggage of theological conformity

We’re not a church. We seek to be a supplement to already existing commitments and affiliations.

In essence, Nourish is akin to a Christian Salon - the European tradition of friends who gather for intellectual discussion and mutual support.

    Our Goals:

    • Find a few like-minded individuals willing to join us on this adventure

    • Start to meet biweekly for gatherings that nourish minds, souls, and bodies

    • Create community by gathering at participants’ homes for food, drink, discussion, prayer, simple rituals, and socializing

We’re in the early stages of planning for 2025. If you would like to learn more, please reach out to Gregory.

  • Organic Community

An organic Christian community implies authentic connection outside the walls of traditional institutions.

It's a movement toward a more natural, less structured Christianity. In this expression, individuals gather based on a shared commitment to following Jesus in a meaningful and somewhat informal manner.

Above all, by organic, we mean real.

We seek to become friends who mutually support one another in practical ways.

  • A Simple Christianity

Christianity is based on profound claims and insights. But profound doesn’t necessarily mean complicated.

Yes, theology is essential, and convictions matter. However, theological conformity is overrated and does not guarantee unity or genuine community.

A desire to conform your life to the teachings and examples of Jesus is all that’s required.

With that said, we are not about your standard forms of Evangelical Christianity.

Evangelicalism is rooted in the Four Spiritual Laws, a literal reading of scripture, substitutionary atonement, a triumphalist, fundamentalist theology, and a strong dose of moralism.

Nourish seeks to foster a Christianity that is the exact opposite. You can learn more here.
